The NZ ART PLAY Concept
NZ ART PLAY (NZAP) will be a world class Location Based Entertainment (LBE) facility and interactive landscaped garden environment. This purpose built building uniquely houses truly stunning new forms of immersive environments (ART), and state-of-the-art ‘active movement’ creative exploration spaces (PLAY).
Our concept is unique as it integrates a managed walkthrough experience (ART) with a roaming arena (PLAY) under one roof. NZAP also provides the highest levels of contemporary technical media design and creative narratives. These stunning spaces will thrill and connect with international tourists and local communities across all age groups and abilities.
Building Concept - Exterior
Covering a total land area of 7,000 m. The NZAP building is 5,000m. The height is 11 meters.
The exterior building cladding incorporates a large scale, low energy, all weather LED screen. This iconic high resolution feature can be updated with moving video. This screen can promote touring shows, special events, live events and can display ‘live data’ artwork in real time.
Central Concourse
The central concourse provides roaming access to a stunning arena of several curated creative works. Each concept engages the audience through touch, sound and movement. Combining new forms of AR, projection mapping, kinetic sculptural installations, and large scale interactive 4k and 8k LED screens. Pasifika New Zealanders are the first group represented within two of the main screens.
The concourse accesses the hosts station to register on arrival and the ART, PLAY areas. Also the shop and the CoLAB and the NZAP management office on the first floor via the lift and stair access.
